The CY-ELSFP-8PMF-UHP1-CWDM4-B is an eight-channel continuous-wave external laser source for 2xFR4 co-packaged optics. It provides two sets of 1271, 1291, 1311 and 1331 nm wavelengths, with at least +23 dBm output per channel. The ELSFP module includes CMIS management, a polarization-maintaining blind-mate optical interface and a nominal 3.3 V supply.

Overview

External light for a CPO optical engine

The ELSFP supplies continuous-wave light. A compatible optical engine performs the external modulation; the ELSFP is not a complete optical transceiver.

This functional overview separates the light source, optical engine and switch ASIC so their roles are clear.

The CWDM4 model has two sets of four CW lasers. Each set contains 1271, 1291, 1311 and 1331 nm channels.

The specified minimum optical output is +23 dBm per channel, not the combined output of the module. Refer to the product datasheet for conditions and limits.

+23 dBm 8-Channel CWDM4 ELSFP CW Laser Module for 2xFR4 CPO

The CY-ELSFP-8PMF-UHP1-CWDM4-B is a high-power External Laser Small Form Factor Pluggable (ELSFP) continuous-wave laser source designed for 2xFR4 co-packaged optics (CPO) platforms.

The module integrates eight CW lasers arranged as two CWDM4 wavelength sets. Each set contains 1271 nm, 1291 nm, 1311 nm and 1331 nm channels. Every channel delivers a minimum optical output power of +23 dBm, providing the external light source required by high-capacity CPO optical engines.

Targeted for 102.4T CPO switch architectures, the module supports 200 Gb/s-per-lane applications and aggregate bandwidth of up to 6.4 Tb/s. Blind-mate optical and electrical interfaces simplify installation and replacement in compatible host systems.

Is CY-ELSFP-8PMF-UHP1-CWDM4-B a laser source or a transceiver?

It is an eight-channel continuous-wave (CW) external laser source for compatible co-packaged optics (CPO) optical engines. It supplies light for external modulation; it is not a complete optical transceiver.

How is the CWDM4 model different from the 1311 nm model?

CY-ELSFP-8PMF-UHP1-CWDM4-B provides two sets of 1271, 1291, 1311 and 1331 nm wavelengths. CY-ELSFP-8PMF-UHP1-1311-B provides eight channels at a typical wavelength of 1311 nm. Choose the wavelength arrangement required by the optical engine; the two configurations are not automatically interchangeable.
